Frequently Asked Questions
A StaySafe device costs around £10.40 per week (£45 per month), with a one-off £65 setup fee. This covers full setup, in-person delivery, registration with our 24-hour response centre, and ongoing support from our friendly Isle of Wight team.
We offer a two-week trial period so you can try the device first and make sure it’s right for you before signing up. After the trial, there’s a minimum six-month contract, which then moves to a rolling monthly plan for complete flexibility.
There are no hidden charges, and we have no plans to increase the monthly fee for at least the next 12 months — just simple, honest pricing and reliable local service.
You can choose either the StaySafe Watch or the StaySafe Fob, both offering trusted safety features, reliable nationwide coverage, and the reassurance that help is always close at hand.
No, the wearer does not need a smartphone.
StaySafe devices are completely self-contained and work on their own. They don’t rely on a mobile phone, landline or Wi-Fi connection. Everything is built into the device, so it’s simple and ready to use.
Family members who wish to track the device or call it directly can do so using their own phone, but the wearer doesn’t need to have one at all.
Yes. Family members or nominated contacts can check the device’s location at any time using our secure Mobile App, available for both iPhone (iOS) and Android.
The app provides accurate location updates and allows you to call the device directly for extra reassurance. Access is protected by a secure login, so only authorised users can view or contact the device.
If an alert is raised, the wearer’s location is automatically shared with our 24-hour response team so help can be sent straight to them.
Yes, you can. Both the StaySafe Watch and the StaySafe Fob can receive incoming calls from family members or nominated contacts.
You simply call the device directly from any standard mobile or landline number. The wearer can talk to you through the device itself, just like using a speakerphone. No smartphone, Wi-Fi or app is needed.
It’s an easy and reassuring way to stay in touch and check that your loved one is safe, wherever they are.
Calls to the device may incur a charge depending on your phone network and plan.
Outdoors, the StaySafe devices are typically accurate to within a few metres, using GPS satellite signals to pinpoint the wearer’s position. This allows our 24-hour response team or family members to see exactly where the device is when help is needed.
Indoors, accuracy can vary slightly depending on the building, walls and signal strength. In these cases, the device automatically uses nearby mobile network information to give the closest possible location.
In most situations, our monitoring centre can still locate the wearer to a specific address or area, allowing help to reach them quickly and safely.
Yes. Both the StaySafe Watch and the StaySafe Fob include automatic fall detection that can raise an alert if a hard fall is detected.
This feature can be turned on or off depending on the wearer’s needs and lifestyle. It’s ideal for those at risk of falls, but can be disabled if not required.
While the technology is very effective, it’s important to note that not every fall will be detected, and occasionally a false alarm may occur if the device is dropped or jolted suddenly.
If a fall is detected, the device will automatically connect to our 24-hour response team, who can speak directly through the device and arrange help right away.
Yes. You can set timed or permanent geofences, such as around the home or care facility. If the wearer leaves or returns to that area, you’ll receive an SMS alert.
StaySafe devices use a multi-network SIM, which means they can connect to several major UK mobile networks, not just one. This greatly improves coverage and reliability, especially in rural or coastal areas where signal can vary.
If one network is weak, the device will automatically connect to another available signal, helping to keep you protected wherever you are.
Before you sign up, as part of our setup we check coverage in your area and advise on the best device for your location.
Booking a demonstration is easy. You can call our friendly Isle of Wight team on 01983 666416 or make an enquiry through our website.
We’ll arrange a convenient time to visit you at home so you can see, hold and try the devices for yourself. There’s no obligation to buy — it’s simply a chance to ask questions and find the right option for your needs.
You can also meet us at one of our regular local demonstration events if you prefer to see the devices in action first.
