Important Service Limitations

Safeguard Technologies services are designed to support wellbeing, reassurance and independent living but should not be relied upon as a substitute for:

  • emergency services

  • clinical care

  • supervision

  • personal carers

  • medical advice

  • safeguarding responsibilities

In an emergency, users or carers should always contact 999 or the appropriate emergency services where necessary.

While our devices and systems are designed to operate reliably, no technology can guarantee prevention of harm, injury, medical incidents or emergency situations.

Connectivity & Technology Limitations

Our services may rely on:

  • mobile network coverage

  • GPS signal availability

  • internet connectivity

  • device battery levels

  • third-party systems and providers

As a result:

  • location accuracy may vary

  • alerts may occasionally be delayed

  • coverage may be reduced in certain buildings or locations

  • temporary interruptions may occur outside our control

Customers and carers should not rely solely on technology for safety or welfare monitoring.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • provide accurate information

  • keep emergency contact details updated

  • use devices responsibly

  • ensure devices remain charged where applicable

  • notify us of faults or issues promptly

  • maintain appropriate supervision and welfare arrangements where necessary

Where services are used by vulnerable individuals, responsibility for ongoing welfare and care remains with the individual, their family, carers or relevant professionals.

Our services are intended to support existing care arrangements, not replace them.

Orders, Subscriptions & Payments

Some Safeguard Technologies services operate on a subscription basis.

Charges may include:

  • device setup fees

  • monthly subscription charges

  • replacement costs for lost or damaged equipment

  • optional support services

Payment terms will be explained at the point of purchase.

Failure to maintain subscription payments may result in suspension or termination of services.

Device Ownership & Returns

Unless otherwise stated, devices supplied by Safeguard Technologies remain our property and are provided on a rental or managed-service basis.

Customers may be required to return devices:

  • following cancellation

  • following termination of services

  • when a replacement or upgrade is required

Customers may be responsible for reasonable costs associated with lost, damaged or unreturned devices.

Cancellation

Customers may cancel services in accordance with the cancellation terms agreed at the point of purchase.

Any applicable notice periods, minimum terms or return requirements will be communicated during signup or onboarding.

Safeguard Technologies reserves the right to suspend or terminate services where:

  • misuse occurs

  • abusive behaviour is directed towards staff

  • services are used unlawfully

  • payment obligations are not met

Monitoring & Emergency Contacts

Where monitoring services or emergency contact functionality are enabled:

  • alerts may be routed to nominated contacts or third-party monitoring providers

  • emergency contacts are responsible for maintaining availability where agreed

  • response times may vary depending on circumstances and provider availability

Safeguard Technologies does not guarantee immediate response or intervention.

Safeguarding & Welfare Concerns

Safeguard Technologies recognises the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

Where we reasonably believe there may be a genuine concern relating to safety or welfare, information may be shared where appropriate and proportionate with:

  • emergency contacts

  • monitoring providers

  • emergency services

  • healthcare professionals

  • safeguarding authorities

This will only occur where reasonably necessary to protect welfare or safety.
