Business Continuity Statement

Effective Date: 6 April 2025
Last Reviewed: 1 May 2026

Our Commitment

Safeguard Technologies Ltd is committed to providing reliable, responsible and resilient services to our customers, families, carers and professional partners.

We recognise that our services may support vulnerable individuals, older adults and people living independently. For this reason, we take business continuity seriously and aim to reduce avoidable disruption wherever reasonably possible.

Purpose of This Statement

This statement explains how Safeguard Technologies approaches business continuity, service resilience and operational risk.

It is intended to provide reassurance that we have considered how services can continue during unexpected disruption.

Our Operating Model

Safeguard Technologies operates as a local, specialist provider supported by established third-party infrastructure and service partners.

Our service model may include:

  • device suppliers

  • mobile network providers

  • software platforms

  • Alarm Receiving Centres

  • payment providers

  • secure website and hosting providers

  • local setup and support arrangements

This means that Safeguard Technologies is not solely dependent on one individual, one system or one physical location.

Key Continuity Measures

We aim to maintain service continuity through:

  • documented internal processes

  • secure cloud-based systems

  • shared access to essential business systems

  • supplier-supported device infrastructure

  • third-party monitoring arrangements where applicable

  • secure data storage and backup processes

  • alternative communication routes where needed

  • replacement device processes

  • escalation arrangements for urgent issues

Staff Availability & Cover

Safeguard Technologies is a lean local business, but we recognise the importance of continuity during absence, illness or periods of increased demand.

To reduce operational risk, we aim to ensure that:

  • key procedures are documented

  • essential supplier and system access is available to authorised personnel

  • customer records are stored securely and accessibly

  • urgent issues can be escalated appropriately

  • local delivery and support arrangements can be planned around demand

Technology & Supplier Resilience

Some parts of our service rely on trusted third-party suppliers and infrastructure providers.

These may include:

  • mobile networks

  • device platforms

  • monitoring providers

  • website systems

  • payment systems

  • hosting providers

While no technology service can guarantee uninterrupted operation, we aim to work with reputable providers and respond promptly where issues are identified.

Service Disruption

Potential causes of service disruption may include:

  • mobile network outages

  • device faults

  • supplier delays

  • technical faults

  • severe weather

  • ferry disruption

  • power or internet outages

  • staff illness or emergency absence

Where disruption occurs, we aim to:

  • assess the issue promptly

  • communicate clearly where customers are affected

  • prioritise vulnerable customers and urgent concerns

  • work with suppliers to resolve issues

  • arrange replacement or support where reasonably practical

Emergency Services Limitation

Safeguard Technologies services are designed to support reassurance, communication and independent living.

They are not a replacement for:

  • 999 emergency services

  • clinical care

  • carers

  • supervision

  • statutory emergency response services

In an emergency, customers, families or carers should always contact 999 or the appropriate emergency service.

Data & Information Security

Business continuity also depends on protecting customer information.

We aim to support data resilience through:

  • secure systems

  • restricted access controls

  • responsible supplier selection

  • data minimisation

  • regular software and security updates

  • secure handling of customer records

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Review & Improvement

Safeguard Technologies will review business continuity arrangements periodically and update procedures where appropriate.

As our services grow, we will continue to strengthen our operational resilience, supplier arrangements and internal processes.
